personal training_Omaha Barbell (Gym). Now that summer is here, our personal training team is continuing to help people look their best. Since fitness is an ongoing process, you shouldn’t feel bad in any way if you didn’t reach a specific goal you had set for summer. Instead, what you should focus on is continuing to make progress.

If you’ve been working out for awhile now, you may be looking for what you can do to to reignite your efforts and continue making results.

Because that’s a very common position, our personal training team has put together five of their best secrets to help you continue getting great results from your workouts:

Make Sure You Have a Clear Goal

Once you get in the swing of going to a gym in Omaha, it becomes part of your routine. While consistency is important, it’s also important that all of your efforts are focused towards a specific goal. So if you’ve been working out for awhile without a really focused goal in mind, it’s time to take a step back and identify exactly what you want to accomplish. Whether that’s losing weight or adding muscle mass, having a clear goal will allow you to tailor all of your efforts towards it.

Give Your Cardio Some Incline

If your primary goal is to lose weight, you’re going to want to do a solid amount of cardio. And even if you’re focused on gaining muscle, some cardio is important for general health. Regardless of how long you’re spending on the treadmill, it’s a good idea to crank up the incline. By walking or running on an incline, you’ll be able to burn more calories in less time.

Personal Training Tip #3 – Visualize

Not only does nutrition play an important role in getting the body you want, but the mental side of things is important as well. From individual exercises to reaching your overall goal, the Omaha Barbell personal training team knows from experience just how powerful visualization can be. If you take the time to really see yourself doing something, you will have a big advantage on actually getting there.

Switch Up Set Volume

It’s normal to hit plateaus with resistance training exercises. But just because you hit a plateau doesn’t mean you have to get stuck there. By either decreasing or increasing the reps you perform for specific sets, you’ll be able to work through the plateau and continue getting stronger.
