What You Should Bring to Your Omaha Gym Workout

Omaha GymThe worst feeling when arriving at an Omaha gym is realizing you forgot your gym bag. The second worst thing is forgetting to pack a certain item in your bag, especially if you run out of a product. While stopping at the store is a simple task, if you’re working out prior to heading to your job, making a pit stop is more than likely not an option.

If you’re new to working out at Omaha Barbell (the #1 Omaha gym) or go often but would love to know what other gym members have in their bags, feel free to browse the list below.

While this may seem like a common sense item, many Omaha gym members will often forget simple things like a bra or a pair of clean underwear. Some may think it’s okay to wear the same undies you worked out in, but if you work in close proximity with a co-worker they will appreciate your clean Fruit of the Loom’s.

Hygiene Products

Many weight lifting or powerlifting gyms offer a shower as one of their features. For those with a busy schedule, this can help you consolidate your time and prep for work. Be sure to pack the shower necessities you’ll need, like your favorite shampoo, conditioner, soap, deodorant or other items you’d typically use at home. P.S. Don’t forget your towel!

Tip: If you happen to forget your soap, have no fear — use your shampoo!!

A Healthy Snack or Meal Replacements

When you’re working out, replenishing your body with food is required. While some days you might be okay with not eating or eating once you get to your office, if your workout was tough you could do your body severe damage by waiting too long prior to eating. Our Omaha gym members absolutely love Quest bars and muscle gels. Check them out–they’re small, easy to transport, and they’re delicious!

Refillable Water Bottle or Protein Shaker

At Omaha Barbell, we do offer bottled water as well as the option to purchase shakers. We have several gym members who like to watch their carbon footprint. If you’re one of those, be sure to pack your favorite water bottle.

Portable or Plug-in Phone Charger

Picture this: you head to Omaha Barbell, hop on the treadmill, turn Pandora on and realize your phone only has 15% battery life. This could be a nightmare for your motivation. Be sure to pack a portable charger or an outlet charger to ensure your device has enough power to fuel your mind with motivation all the way through your run.

Spiral Notebook, a Pen and Highlighter

If you’ve been around Omaha Barbell, you’ll know that many of our gym members love setting goals and achieving them. Almost weekly, if not daily, one of our members will hit a new personal record (PR). We’re proud to say they do this by tracking their progress in their workouts as well as their food. Be sure to have a notebook and pen handy so you can also track your progress. We also suggest bringing a highlighter to record those outstanding PRs!
